#FAST ESTIMATION

# QUICK ESTIMATE OF MAN HOURS TO USE FOR EXECUTION REINFORCED CONCRETE

To make a quick estimate of the man hours that are required for the execution of works in reinforced concrete, we must add the following times:

1-Hours-man for Manufacturing and Filling of Concrete
For this task, and if the concrete is manufactured by hand and the work is at floor level, we take a conservative time of 8 hours-man x m3 for manufacturing and filling of the concrete.
If we worked with a plant in situ with concrete mixer trucks,(in optimum conditions) we should compute 1.5 hours-man by m3

2-Hours-man for formworks
Here we must first know the formworks, that we need at m2 per m3 of concrete (m2 formworks /m3 concrete, we will call A), this value is variable, depending on the structure and then we will dividing by the formworks of m2 to be built and placed per hour . If formworks are made only once and then we can used it, we would have an output of 0.80 m2 of formworks by hour-man, we will call B
If the formworks panels should be manufactured only for a defined structure, we would have an output of 0.35 m2 of formworks by hour-man ,we will call C .. then divided A into B or C as appropriate, and we have the time Formwork

3-Hours-man for cutting, folding and assembly of the armor
In this case we need to know the amount of iron per m3 of concrete, we will call D, then divide it by the kg of iron are cut, folded and assembled by hour, this task has a yield of 10 kg x hours ... we will call E ,and dividing D/E , is our time of iron assembly

4-Hours-man to add depending to the type of work
Time-motion Materials at work
Time-curing, and cleaning
Hours-man for manage and controls
Hours-man for excavation or movement of soils
Additional time for lifting-Concrete if necessary

Example

If we build a wall of reinforced concrete, with a height of 1 metro and a thickness of 0.20 m, with an amount of 90 kg of iron per m3 of concrete, the number of hours required would be as follows

Hours-man of manufacture and -------Concrete filling 8 h x m3

Hours-man for Formwork
(Here, the panels are manufactured and then we used it)
M2 formwork /m3 Concrete or A = 10m2/m3
Formwork yield B = 0.80 m2 x hours
Splitting A/B..-------------------------- ------------------ 12.50 h x m3

Hours-man for iron assembly
D x = 90 kg m3 of concrete and E = 10 kg per hour...
then D / E =--------------------------- -------------------- 9 h x m3

Estimated Time to make structure --------- -----------29.5 h per m3,

It must add Hours-man, depending on the type of Work that we read at Item 4
